USA Spec iPod integration

USA Spec iPod integration
Hey everyone,
New to the forums here. Just bought my 07 TL Type S a couple months ago!
I've been browsing the other posts about the USA Spec iPod adapter but I had a specific question for those who are using it that I haven't found an answer to yet...
I'm planning on using the adapter with a 160gb classic iPod with alot of different artists/albums loaded on it. I know you can use the adapter to click through artists with the factory radio controls, but is it only line by line? Or is it possible to bring up a full screen list of artists to scroll through, like I do now with MP3 folders on a CD?
And either way – is it pretty responsive? Say if I have over a hundred artists, can I get to the bottom of the list quickly, with the display keeping up?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Here's a video of a guy doing a USA Spec install on a TL and how it is used.
Also, there is a nice write up in the FAQ about each after market adapter.

Personally, I went with the pxmag for mine. Just waiting for the parts to come in from UPS then I'll be scheduling the install at a professional shop.

Go with the PXAMG...you can set it to an AUX mode basically that allows you to choose songs from your iPod. If you run it through your radio then your iPod goes into Accessory Connected mode and wont let you use it. You can search by Artist, Song, Playlist, or Genre but it will only search line by line. Mine freezes if I try to scroll though a long list of artists quickly, but then I usually just pick the artist from my iPod since its faster.
Install isnt hard, you could easily DIY. I have mine in my glove box, but other members have located their in the center console

iSimple you have 3 modes:
AUX1
AUX2
iPod
AUX1 - You plug in your iPod using the iPod connector and you can control music through your iPod. The cool thing is you can still change tracks and use the steering wheel. The difference between AUX1 and iPod is just you can't see track info or pick the song (line by line) using the radio.
AUX2 - You plug any device that takes a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Obviously you have no track info or steering wheel control or control via the car radio. The car acts as a headphone essentially.
iPod - You plug in your iPod and you CANNOT use your iPod to control or browse songs because it's in accessory mode.
In this mode, your iPod is fully "integrated" with the car radio. You can see track info, browse through songs/artists/genre/playlist/album (line by line) using the radio, and have steering control to skip tracks etc.
The iSimple will also charge your iPod when it is plugged in, regardless if the car is on or not.

I checked with Science of Speed today and they apparently now offer only two versions PA11-Hon for NSX and PA15-Hon2 for S2000. Does anybody know if either of these will work with 2006TL/Nav?

Probably not as those have a different harness.
I bought my iSimple from www.autotoys.com. It included the price of the harness so it came out to be $123.00.
