I've got a RF-BLD if you want to go that route.

Is that required though? The RF-BLD? Can I just tap in directly , splice to RCAs and put those into the sub amp and then over to the comp amp?

Not required with JL and I ran an Alpine PDX amp without one and it was just fine. Most amps are rated down to 200mV inputs. It's just that some amps work better than others. The JL actually has a low / high input selector for this purpose. I'm running an RF-BLD with my curent PPI amps because the review I read said it liked higher voltage. Meaning the amps were low on the gain and would require turning them up. But having about 2000 watts of effient class d power for less than $400 was woth it for me to run a line driver plus the higher input voltage from the line driver means a cleaner signal. I have the gain completely turned down on 4 channel amp and at about 1/4 on the sub amp.
