Exclamation Upgrade from 3.4 to 3.7 error...

I have a 05' TL Navi with a 3.4 dvd. I've upgraded to a 3.7 dvd and when I went to install it I got a green screen with "installing software" and then a "disk error". After playing around for a while I finally got it to load (to a point) and while loading up, it would only get to 13 of 16 bars and then error. So I cleaned the disk and put a disk cleaning disk in the navigation drive and re-entered the freshly cleaned disk. Then it would load up any where from 5 bars to 7 bars to 13 bars... I must of tried 20 to 25 times sweating my ass off in my garage...

So, I have reloaded the 3.4 disk and now I want to find someone local with a 3.7 disk to see if it's the disk or the navi or what...

Anyone close to Buford/Suwanee/Cumming???

I'm going to go pick up another disk cleaner and run is through the drive a couple of times just in case... I'll try to head to the dealership this weekend.

you shouldn't have any problem even with a little dust. I upgraded mine 3.3 to 3.7 and works perfectly every time.

I think something wrong with your new 3.7 disc since it works fine with your old 3.4 disc.

where did get the disc from?

I got the disk from a co-worker.

what I don't understand is why the 3.4 disk loads up fine and the 3.7 disk gets errors...

Also, check the disk for scratches. The worst ones are the circular scratches that are close to the beginning and/or end of the disk. Look closely as they can be difficult to spot at first glance. If the disk is scratched, run out and get some PlastX used to recondition headlights. It works great---I was able to save the kids' Guitar Hero disk with it! Apply it with a waxing pad and wipe in straight lines across the disk. It may take a couple of applications and some elbow grease to get the disk clean, but it works well.
