Hello Everyone,
Just of the the blue my XM screen shows "UPDATING" and I am not able to listen to anything other than channels 00, 01 and 247. I called XM and they said I should bring my car to the dealer; something is wrong with the antenna. Now, if something is wrong with the antenna, I would not be able to listen to the above mentioned channels , I suppose. Has any of you had this problem?

I haven't experienced anything like this myself, nor do I know anything about the XM format, but I imagine a lot of information has to be transmitted back to the satellites in order to "authenticate" the vehicle.
Since you can listen to the preview channels (I'm not sure what 247 is, but I'm assuming it's similar to 00 & 01), maybe your receiver is working fine, but the transmitter is messed up. Either way, taking it to the dealer sounds like your best bet.

It sounds as if your subscription has expired. 00 is the Radio ID, 01 is the Preview Channel, and I don't know what 247 is, but if you have Navi maybe you get a display I don't (mine is not activated).
You need to call XM and see if your subscription is in effect, or at least what happened to it.

This is what happened:
Back in July I bought my first TL ('04) and had the XM radio activated. Last month I bought the '05 and called XM to activate the radio. At that time, XM told me they were going to add the new radio to the existing account and that I was going to have the 3 month free trial. Well, you already know what they did. They replaced the existing radio with the new one under the same free trial period, so I had just a few weeks left.
They fixed it this afternoon and gave me a fresh free trial starting as of today.
