Upcoming winter remote starter?
hey guys its my first winter with the TL
and im not really looking forward to it. hate waking up early morning when its cold and i would HATE to run outside just to start my car. so anyways im looking at the python 4203 remote start and i was just wondering what everyones opinion is? the remote looks nice and simple and all i really need is for it to what its supposed to do. price for the remote +labor(280)+keyless entry(30)+alarm disarm(15)+ key bypass (40)is around 360 altogether.
do you guys know if theres a better remote or should i just buy the remote myself and pay for everything else or just take what im being offered?

you might as well get a viper 5901 or 5902 alarm with the remote start cause in the end you might be spending the same amount. the only difference between the two is the 5902 has a color screen remote while the 5901 has a lcd remote. all the other features are the same. I just installed the 5901 on my S and I love it!! there's a very good diy on here and I followed it exactly. I only had programming issues cause I'm not experienced in alarm installs. It was my first install ever and I did pretty good.
i guess i should mention that im just looking to spend around 300-350ish. not really looking for any top of the line sort of product. i just want to have a remote starter with some good range and be able to use all the same functions as my blade key. i believe the python 4203 has a 2000 feet range? i want something that can reach my car from say inside a mall all the way out to the parking lot.

check into some factory refurbished devices too... www.gooddeals18.com is where I bought a python alarm/remote start that I used for 3 years without a single problem.
I would only go DEI as they have the BEST products out for alarm/remote start.

Oh and before you buy an alarm/remote start yourself ... make sure you either install it yourself or find a shop that will install products you bring to them. A lot of places will not...just an FYI...
Look at hte Compustar units, they are one of the few companies that make a RS specifically for MT. I wouldn't do it any other way and most shops will not risk it to install a RS on MT car.
Take a look at this:

5000' range, 1 button, works with your factory blade key. Use the new transmitter to unlock during remote start since the factory key will not do it.
Should be ~$425ish installed.

Have any of you tried to go the route of getting your remote start to work with your factory key fob (ie- by pushing the lock and unlock at same time it starts?)?
I know I have read posts that say when its in remote start you have to use the physical key to unlock etc, but I really just don't want two key chains.

I have never heard of or seen any remote start that doesn't allow you to lock or unlock while its in remote start.
