I have read the issues some have had with the Cingular 6682. I don't have my TL yet, getting one in a few weeks, but I do have an Unlocked Nokia 6682. The issues on the 6682 phone itself lye with the Cingular crap on it. So does anyone have this phone Unlocked, direct from Nokia working with the TL? I'm hoping mine will be problem free, or it will be on eBay asap.

 

do you mean unlocked or unbranded? you can still have a unlocked phone with all the cingular crap on it... unbranded doesn't have all the carrier specific files and stuff

 

well i have one of the phones from cingular... so how do you take the carrier stuff off, if that is trully where the problem lies???

 

you have to send it to a third party to get it flashed and decustomized. Try www.iunlock.com. I would wait though until the new firmware is released and then send it to them. Latest word on howardforums is that it will be released next week.

 

No. That is BS. When carriers certify the phones they have less bugs than the versions that are certfied by the manufacturer only.

And the Cingular version of this phone is full of bugs, the Unbranded version works like a charm, that's why Cingular stopped selling there's for a while. Now it looks like new Firmware and a new 3G SIM card will fix the Cingular 6682. I have no issues, except I want to know if it works with the TL.

 

so how do you get the new firmware and 3g sim card??? what is the newest version of the firmware, so that i know if i have it already ( i just got the phone two weeks ago)...

 

test drove the TL today and tried the 6682 out. It worked and it didn't work. There does not seem to be a discovery mode on the 6682. When the phone is on and you tell the TL to find the 6682 it does not. I can find the TL by serching with the phone, pair it and it works. BUt after I hang up on a call the pairing disconnects. The sales guy said the TL need to find the phone. Not the phone find the TL. Since I dont have the TL's users manal yet, which way is correct. And is the 6682 a P.O.S to used in the TL? I didn;t even get a signal or battery icon levels on the display, just the antenna, with no bars. I might switch to a Sony Z620i which I heard works great.
Any got the 6682 working 100%, tell me how, I do like the phone.

 

The 6682 doesn't show the battery or signal bars. It doesn't do that also with the 6230 (which works btw...no disconnects). As for pairing...not sure about what the sales guy said. I'll have to try it one of these days. I didn't wait for the HFL to find the 6682 so I found the TL.
