uh oh... BIG MISTAKE

Hey guys, I need help and fast!

I just won a 06 ACURA TL NAVIGATION DISPLAY OEM 06.

I currently have an 05. I was under the impression that this is the nav UNIT, so I can get navigation in my car... but apparently I was an idiot! Can this be used in a 2005??

If so, will it have full nav capability? Or do I need something else?

and

and

If it dosen't work, I will put it in the Black Market.

Thanks guys!

That's just the display. You would still need the actual unit which is in the trunk, plus all the cables.

All the parts are identified here: completed!!!! non-navi to factory-navi conversion !!! (post #40).

What you can do is search acuraoemparts and compare the part numbers. The parts for the '04-'06 are relatively the same and it should work.

it will work fine all the navi parts from 04-06 are the same. like was said before you still need the dvd rom unit , new clock display, steering wheel switch and wire harnesses. and dont forget the shop and electronic trouble shooting manuals. wouln't try this without them

Don't worry, I'm sure most of us have done something that warrants the "uh oh... BIG MISTAKE" entitled to this thread. As per your research, from the list above it looks like you're still going to incur a lot of cost to get this conversion completely done. I don't know if I'd go through with it if I were you.

just to echo the words of DMZ to those who are considering getting a new or used TL without navi... it is better to just get the TL with navi now as opposed to saving a few bucks now but regretting in the future about not having navi and contemplating the cost and time needed to make the conversion.

hey DMZ, did i make you proud??? =D
