I have a good line on a OEM backup cam off a 3G Type S and was wondering what it take it get it working on my 04 TL Navi with 3.8v disk?

for your 04 to work with a backup cam, you need a dvd to nav converter.
these converters have inputs that allow you add a backup cam.

the most popular hardware is the DOMs Nav2go unit.
I have the A/V electronics dvd to nav unit.

 

Could I swap in the 08 drive unit and have it work?


Just wasn't sure if the OEM cam made difference over some aftermarket one.

 

if im not mistaken, you need to swap out the radio unit or the nav screen unit.
the 07-08 radio units or nav screen unit have an input for the cam.
then I believe, if you switch out the nav screen you would have to buy a new dvd drive for the trunk.

I' am also not sure about the wiring of the stock cam vs an aftermarket

so you're willing to spend upwards of 1000 dollars on a track car?
