Just got a new 06 TL with Navi yesterday. I love it but...
Could not get my phone (Razor v3) to pair with the hfl. Message was Handsfree
link booting up...it does not ever boot up...just keeps running the same message.
Also, the Homelink won't work..my Maxima has Homelink and it works perfect on my
opener. Took the car to my son's to see if it would work on his opener...same problem.
Have an appointment Monday at the dealer but two electronic failures on a new car is scary.
Anyone else have such problems right out of the box?

But seriously, congrats and welcome to the forum.
Try setting up your phone tomorrow; it sounds like the system locked up, and should reset after a turn-off & -on cycle. If not, the dealer should be able to clear the boot error and set up the phone for you.
With the Homelink, clear all three buttons per Quickstart or Owner's manuals and then try linking to the garage door opener per manual procedures.

Thanks to the tip in the link you gave me, I replaced the battery in the remote
and hung the antenna on the opener straight down...then I repeated the
Homelink program for the rolling codes and IT WORKS
I'll try to get HandsFree going again tomorrow.

Glad you got the Homelink up. Hope the HFL resolves as well too, so you don't have to see the dealer for any problems!

 

If you still encounter problems with the RAZR and HFL, try performing a search. There are numerous threads on here concerning this phone.

I wish I could get that far...when I press the phone button on the steering wheel
the message comes up "HandsFree Link Booting" then it never boots up...kinda like a
hard drive failure on a computer.

 

I took it into the dealer today...they replaced the Bluetooth module...$620..glad I
have a warranty.
Everything works great now...I love this car and hope that's the last time I have to go see the dealer.
