turning on bluetooth on v710 to transfer call to HFL

My v710 has successfully paired with the HFL. How do I simply enable bluetooth so that i can tranfer my call from my phone to HFL seamlessly. We can't have bluetooth enabled all the time, right?

In order for HFL to work, bluetooth on phone must be turned on. When I start the car, I am connected/linked. This way I don't have to mess with the phone to turn on BT.

Somewhere in this forum there is a thread about a macro to turn Bluetooth on and off as needed--try searching for "macro," that might do it. I tried that tip and it's been a very useful one for when I take the phone out of the car (which isn't all that often)--I shut off the Bluetooth before I shut off the car, then after I start the car back up I turn on Bluetooth and put the phone in the armrest.

Sure you can. Why do you think you can't? My V710 has Bluetooth enabled all the time -- mostly so I won't forget to tunr it on all the time. I haven't seen an issue with battery life yet due to this. (Doesn't mean I won't.)

Why would you want to turn BT on and off? Wouldn't you want it on all the time you are in your car? It only turns on when it senses your phone anyway.

I was wrong about "macro." Instead see the following thread. I use the method that user iceneedle posted:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...t=battery+v710

In response to Treblig, I turn Bluetooth off when I take the phone out of the car--like if I am going to the grocery store and am expecting a call, or next week when my car will be at the auto body shop. This is because I don't need the Bluetooth then and it saves the battery life if you turn it off when not needed. Whenever I have the phone on and I am driving I have the Bluetooth on.

The only time I turn off my bluetooth is when I'm travelling (not driving), and know I'm going to be away from my car (and possibly my charger) for days at a time. Otherwise, my bluetooth is on all the time, just waiting for me to get close to my car so it can link up. I have NEVER had an issue with battery life using the standard battery.

To make shortcuts on the v710 that will turn on or off your bluetooth (that's two shortcuts, by the way)... simply do the following:

Use the phone to browse through (select) the following menu options.
- Menu
- Settings
- Connection
- Bluetooth Link
- Setup
- Power

Highlight "on" or "off" depending on which shortcut you're making, and HOLD DOWN the menu button (the middle top button) until the shortcut menu comes up. Then name the shortcut and assign a shortcut key appropriately, and hit "Done". The shortcut will now appear in your shortcut menu to either turn on or off your bluetooth. If you set one of your d-pad directions to be "shortcuts", then you can turn on or off your bluetooth with only two keypresses.
