When I dial a number using HFL and my Treo 650, first I get a loud schreaching sound for 5 or so seconds, then it starts to dial. Any thoughts on why and how to stop it?

 

I've never experienced this with my ATTWS/Cingular phone. Who's your carrier?

 

I get the same thing with my Sprint PCS Treo 650.

 

Haven't had any problems with my Cingular 650.

 

Are you non-Cingular folks running with the handsfree update from PalmOne? Does the screaching change pitch if you move the phone around in the cabin (I'm thinking feedback between the phone's mic and the car's speakers, if the HFL isn't completely linked)?

 

I have the same phone with Sprint PCS and I get the same noise.

Dont know how to stop it. I just deal with it.

Also, if I am on the phone and I get call waiting when I click over the next phone conversation is so much louder and cleare than the original call I was on.

Anyone else experience this??

 

I have sprint pcs. Must be a problem limited to the Treo 650s with sprint pcs.

 

I had Sprint and had the same problem. It would happen only 50% of the time though.
