Treo 650 HFL Calling Problems
Treo 650 HFL Calling Problems
I paired my Treo 650 (Cingular) with my 07 TL w/ Navigation with no problem. If someone calls me on my cell phone while I'm in the car, it rings through on HFL with no problem.
The problem I have is when making a call. 90% of the time when I use HFL to call, it just does nothing - it says that it's calling but no call ever goes through. If I call from the phone and then say "Transfer" after the call is initiated, I can use HFL. But that sort of defeats the purpose of HFL.
Anyone run into this problem and figure out how to fix it?

Have you checked out these older threads on the Treo 650?
Treo 650 (Good news now?... start from Page 3.)
I Have Had It With The T650!
Treo 650 - EVERY 1st call made from phone will not connect to Handsfree Link
Treo 650 with BT in 6 months from Verizon
There are a few more.

I haven't had an issue with my Treo 650 (Verizon) and my 2005 TL 6MT Navi.....I did notice however, that unlike my other phone, this one does not show signal strength and battery power on the info screen...other than that, no problems calling someone or answering.

I bought my 05 TL in Nov 04 and paired it to a Sony Ericsson T637. I wanted a Palm Trio, but they were not yet Blue Tooth. For 2 years the T637 worked GREAT with HFL. Six weeks ago I bought a Cingular Trio 650 and it's BAD. Only about a quater of my outgoing calls work OK. Most of the time the call doesn't connect or the Trio goes through a rest. Occationally the Trio locks up and I have to remove the battery cover and reset it - this is extreemly frustrating. I love my TL's HFL, but I'm beginnig to hate my Trio 650. I'm going to take my Trio back to the Cingular store where I bought it, but I'm beginning to fear that the problem is systemic with Trios and not isolated to my 650 - I'm VERY disappointed in the 650.

I have issues with my 650 as well, Sprint service with most recent firmware.
receiving calls work fine. 1st outgoing call tries to use bluetooth, but disconnects; subsequent outgoing calls work fine - if I am using the phone when I start the call is does not disconnect on the first outgoing call. (I've had my TL for 9 months)
I also have issues with bluetooth headsets - an incoming call takes several rings before the headset can receive audio, same goes for outgoing - the person I'm calling usually answers before the headset gets audio. Both of my headsets have worked fine with other phones . . .
I think it is an issue with the Treo and eventually they will fix it in a firmware upgrade . . . . maybe . . . . . .

Thanks everyone. Problem solved. On one of the above links, someone recommended shutting down the phone every night. I am doing that now, and I now have no problems.
I had the updated firmware, by the way. So for whatever reason, if you don't shut the Treo 650 down at night, it has a hard time connecting when you call from the car. Go figure.
At least that's what I'm telling myself until it stops working again.
