You resurrected this one year old thread.
Sprint firmware with signal strength came out in June of 2005, and other carriers following suit in Jan/Feb of 2006 (except Verizon, they are still on the old firmware).

Acura TL Pairing "Stuck"
I just received a replacement Sprint Treo 650 with v1.13a installed. I tried to pair it with my 04 Acura TL (like I did with my previous 650) and the car gets stuck in the pairing mode. Now, I'm not able to not use the phone mode AND my radio. Had to disconnect/reconnect the battery to "reboot" the system. My previous Treo didn't have this problem. Current Treo completes the bluetooth pairing, but now can't find the Acura HFL.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Treo 650 HFL Problems
I have had numerous problems with the “integration” between the Palm Treo 650 with Sprint service and the Acura HandsFreeLink system. Below is a run-down of the version I’m running and the behaviors I’m experiencing (both good and bad) and their frequency. Overall the experience has been very poor and I am eagerly awaiting the replacement phone for the Treo that my company is providing.
Vehicle: 2006 TL with Nav
Treo: Treo 650 running Treo650-1.13a-SPNT
Carrier: Sprint
Behavior: Frequency:
Phone Pairs Properly with HFL 95%
Phone makes outbound call on first try
after pairing 0%
(first call always has to be aborted, all subsequent calls work)
Phone received incoming calls properly 0%
(HFL rings, answers the call, then instantly transfers call to Treo with
call live.)
Call waiting works properly 95%
Battery Strength displayed 0%
Signal Strength displayed 100%
Phone reboots spontaneously during calls 10%
Phone re-pairs with HFL after re-boot 0%
(engine has to be turned off)
Phone fails to pair with car 5%
(must re-do the pairing procedure)
Call waiting works properly 100%
Calls initiated on phone transfer to HFL properly 50%
