A tour of the Dynaudio factory
A tour of the Dynaudio factory
I thought this was kind of neat. I doubt any other manufacturers have these kinds of facilities. It really shows the quality and that the parts are made in house and assembled by humans in house. This is a case of you get what you pay for. I was pretty surprised at how nice the facility was. I would quite my job in a heartbeat and move to Denmark for a job over there, especially in the front office lol.

That place looks sweet! I would definitely take their manufacturing process into consideration in deciding whether it's worth it to drop $1,000+ on some speakers. I'd really like to see how it compares to other companies.
JL Audio sources some material from overseas, some from here but, the:
W7AE
W6v2
W3v3
TW5
All marine speakers
ZR800-CW
are all made in Florida by people. I think the higher end amps are as well but I'm far from sure of it. They could be Chinese for all I know.
The JL and Dynaudio failure rates are practically non-existent. I think Jerry knows the numbers but I believe Dyn is the lowest in the industry.
A bit off topic but I hooked up the Esotar 110 tweeters in my car yesterday and played a couple CDs through them. Just unbelievable. It's hard to imagine that much of an improvement over an already good tweeter and even with a 4kh highpass. I can't wait to buy a set. It's going to be hard to fit them though with over 4" in diameter but after hearing them, they're worth the trouble. I've been going back and forth because I didn't know if it would make a huge difference but now that I know I'll own a set within the next two months.
