You mean the Navi DVD? There's no difference between the Navi DVD used in the base and TL-S models.

However, only the same or later DVD version will load properly. If the base TL had an updated DVD and the replacement from the TL-S is older, the DVD may not load properly since the Navi is using updated software.

 

yes navi. So are u saying you can't downgrade? But I know the TLS has red colors on the screen so there is a difference in the DVD.

 

Yes-- you can't go backwards.
The Navi has always had user-controlled background colors, and the TL-S has red lighting for the dash, IIRC. However, the Navi DVD is the same White version 4.XX disc in every '07+ TL w/Nav.

 

i guarantee you that it can work backwards lol. just go in the diagnostic menu and download the older disc, it'll "forget" the newer disc. and btw the base and type s navigations are same for 07-08. they both have the "red" background available, you really dont know much about TL's do you chad? type s only has the cluster and button lighting red exclusively.

 

I thought it was better to simplify the answer for this situation, assuming a straight DVD swap.

 

07-08 Navi drive will work in 04-06 TL.

 

But the clock thing tommy. Also, for everyone else, I guess maybe the tls and base tl DVD is the same. The red color is possible even on the base tl DVD. I thought it was just unique to the TLS
