Question TL NAV - shows next maneuver or not?

I am sure this is a noob question so apologies in advance. I have searched this site for a while and can't find an answer.

In my TL test drives, I have asked the dealer if the "overhead map" view is the only view available. I am used to a Garmin device in my old car which displays the nice 3D view which basically shows a big fat arrow in 3D showing you what turn to make next. I was told both times that the Acura NAV doesn't provide that view. Is this true or are my salesmen just dolts?

It's there.

IIRC:

You have two options (sorry I don't remember the exact menu commands to get there).

Option 1 is single screen with the overhead route map.

Option 2 is a split screen map with the overhead route view AND the next manuever.

I think this is somewhere under the Setup button on the Navi/Audio console.

You also have, on the touch screen, a "directions" button in lower right, that will show turn-by-turn directions to your destination. Some (all??) of these lines are selectable for additional details.

try inputting an address and then test drive, it should swap screens as needed-

are the new navs really stupid?
Or just the salesman who SIT in a PARKED car and play with the knobs

^^

Yep, it'll do that too. When you get close (~1/4 mile I think) to the manuever point, it will show the split screen automatically.

The split-screen option I referenced stays on all the time if the user selects it.

I love my Acura nav and i think it is superior to my wife's Lexus nav. Her nav does show the next turn in the upper right hand corner along with the distance to that turn. I wish the Acura had that.

I love my Navi!!!
Acura does have the turn by turn and the distance to the next turn.
Play around with your settings and get the split screen option. That will show you the map, along with the turn by turn and distance.

If you press the map button it will toggle between the map view and split screen view.
