Thumbs up TL HFLink and WinMobile 6

FYI, I just purchased a Windows Mobile 6 device (HTC S710) and all functions work with HF Link. I receive signal and battery strength indicators without any issues. The phone is compatible with AT&T/Cingular and T-mobile.

Just wanted to let you all know!

Excellent.. I emailed Acura the WM6 question - because the WM5 phones don't support all of the HFL features. I have a Cingular 8125 right now; I tested WM6 but it wasn't all that stable ('cooked' version). I should be getting an 8525, which will have the WM6 download from Cingular in Q3 of this year.

Mike - did you test the data connection to see if it was compatible? (That's the nice thing about these phones.. new os = new bluetooth features!)

Phone has new features..............hfl is the same from 2004, so it probably won't play with the new features

Bluetooth features are more robust in WM6 when compared to WM5. The bluetooth hardware doesn't change, but the software does.

Example using Motorola Bluetooth Headset..

WM5 - incoming call - headset beeps
WM6 - incoming call - ringtone plays through ear piece & voice command announces the name

WM5 - battery level - look at the phone
WM6 - push button on headset; ask battery level - phone tells you via the headset

I'm hoping that w/ the upgrade all of the functions will work on an 8125 or 8525. I don't think its a completely different bluetooth module - all of the phones are made by HTC.

Hopefully it will work out for you. Do you have a 04-06 or an 07? Does wm6 push contacts?

I don't have a TL yet =p

But I did go test drive one today at lunch (wanted to make sure I really liked it.. I've wanted a TL since 2002!)

If the HTC phone mentioned above w/ WM6 is 100% compatible then I'm going to assume (horrible thing to do) that my phone w/ WM6 would also be 100% functional.

But i'll find out when I buy my car -_-

Funny I have an HP Ipaq 6925 from Cingular, has WM5, bluetooth supports all the functions. I think it depends more on the device than the os.

what bluetooth spec. is your ipaq? 1.1 ? Doesn't the iPaq use some custom HP wireless/bluetooth manager?
