Talking Tape Deck has freeked out!

Anyone have problems with their tape deck? I have a long commute to work so I sometimes listen to audio books on tape. Everything was fine until last night, all of the sudden the tape slowed way down then it started to drop out on the sound and come back in. Now everything is real speeded up, sounds like the chipmunks! I removed the tape and tried another one, same thing.... I really haven't used it that much, any suggestions? (other than getting the books on CD)

Of course. A necessary toy.

Drifty.....Sounds to me like a trip to the dealer is in order for you. I had a similar problem in another car and replacement of the unit was the answer. I do empathyse since we also use both the tape and CD player for audio books. Works great on trips.

OK, called the Dealer, they are going to replace the entire unit, radio etc. So, I need to take it in, they will call Honda for approval and get the new unit, then I take it back for installation. Guess it's books on CD for the rest of the week! Darn, I was just at the good part too! I will let you know the outcome after my visit with the dealer.
