T-mobile and Bluetooth
I am using a Motorola V500, basically the same phone as the V300 & V400 but with Bluetooth. It is not sold here in the US, but if you get ANY GSM phone that operates in the 1900MHz band that has bluetooth, it should work as long as it is unlocked. If you want to be able to roam onto other service providers, make sure the phone has 900 & 1800 MHz too...some new phones like the V500 and V600 are Quadband and will work on all GSM providers worldwide.
Incase you don't know what unlocked means (and forgive me if you do already), most cell phone companies lock the phone to their service only, so you can't buy the new AT&T V600 (which has bluetooth) and use it on T-Mobile. BUT, there are places out there that will unlock phones for a small fee (typically $15-$30) so you can use them on other carriers, and you can also find phones that are already unlocked on several websites and on Ebay. I suggest you check out this forum for more info on cell phones and unlocking...

Good luck!

I was told when I tried to activate my Z600 with Cingular that in most parts of the country they run on 850 MHz and the phone only supports 1900 MHz and the international 900/1800 bands. I had to activate with T-Mobile because they were the only service provider here with a primary frequency of 1900 MHz. So make sure you know your provider can support your phone's frequency! Fortunately Cingular let me out of my 2 year agreement a few months early with no penalty.

I guess I should specify. I really like clamshell phones. My wife needs a clamshell. She puts her cell phone in her purse and accidentally hits a button and I end up getting a call where I think she's stuffed in a trunk and gagged.
Bluetooth phones that support 1900mhz w/ T-Mobile:
Sony Ericsson T68i
Sony Ericsson T610/T616 (yes both of them support 1900mhz)
Panasonic X70
Motorola V525/V600
Nokia 6310i
Nokia 3650/3600/3620
Nokia 6600
Sony Ericsson T39
Ericsson R520
XDA II
Sony Ericsson P800 / P900
Motorola A830
Nokia 6230
Sony Ericsson Z600
Sony Ericsson T630
These are some of the phones that are just off the top of my head. Cingular is a tricky provider although the good thing is extended coverage with 850mhz. I have been with T-Mobile for 3.5 years eversince they were Voicestream. I've been to many big cities in the U.S. and have had excellent coverage.
So the question is, would I rather have 850mhz or solid 1900mhz. Since I have solid 1900mhz, I have no need for 850mhz. T-Mobile's data plans are also very cheap as well as their internation roaming.

mobilezen,
I live in the middle of no where, so my T-mobile phone doesn't have many of these available. I assume you obtain them from the internet, unlocked (or your a vendor or salesman for cellphone, given your tag line?).
meathead,
I'm right there with you. No Bluetooth clamshells in the T-mobile store in my town. None on line (on the T-mobile website), either, last I checked.

So I guess you're in the Cleveland *area*--Cleveland's hardly the middle of nowhere! I got the unlocked Z600 (clamshell with internal antenna) at cellphoneoutlet.com, but it could use a firmware upgrade. It came with an EU plug and EU-US converter. I ordered a new US plug from another internet site. GSM coverage is sketchy now, but so was PCS back in 2000, so things will get better. All the new phones are GSM.

Dirac: I have R5B firmware for the Z600
I'm with T-Mobile and I have a Nokia 6820. Links well with the car and phone calls are clear.
On thing to take note of is that if you keep the bluetooth on the phones on all the time, your battery life will be shorter. I usually turn off the bluetooth on the phone when I walk into the office since I know I'll be in there for a few hours, same when I get home at night and don't have plans of going out anymore. Otherwise, the bluetooth is on while I run errands and go in and out of the car.
