i've used the BitOne...it is an absolute amazing piece!...the lil bugger kicks ass...it smokes the 360's without a doubt...so much flexability...on the fly preset changes..similar to the DDC of an audiocontrol piece...with much better crossovers up to a 48/db slope ...pc tunability of the 360...i do feel this may be better than the Zapco unit...so many un tapped abilities in such a lil package!

Wow dude... that's too much of a blind spot for my comfort...

If I could suggest... how about ending the figerglass right where the tweet ends and make the mold more cylindrical?

because it wouldn't look as cool...and really...when do you look out at the bottom corner of your windshield?

change of plans...those are now going to be used for some personally developed midrange drivers...tweeters are going further up the sail panels...and I have a company developing some prototype midbass in a very cool enclosure and location...I highly doubt i'll make Cali meet...but hey...can't rush the good stuff....

wish me best of luck on this venture

Sweet... Good luck indeed, bro. Be sure to keep posting them pics

Where I live, I have to keep a lookout at the corners all the time. There are ducks with their little ducklings crossing the streets all the time like they own it. Not to mention the occasional squirrel and stray animals. I actually wish there were even less of a blind spot on the front corners for this exact reason.

Awesome!

Now make sure it doesn't accidentally find it's way back into your car lol.

Just name the time and place and I'm there.

There's all kinds of details to that box that I didn't know about. So what's in the future, same design but prettier?

I doubt you'll have any trouble selling them. I'll let some demo it at the all Cali meet.

Sorry to kink the thread but I assume that I'm "the other guy on this board". I think that the Wicked CAS box is garb for many reasons. It is not offered with trunk matched carpet but yet the cheap trunk liner that swap meet wooden boxes are covered with; it's not built to any certain spec of subwoofer, amp or the listeners musical preference; finally the subwoofer is pointed in such a manor that it even cancels out its own sound waves. It's an embarrassment to credible custom installers and fabrication artists such as the OP (Jason) in this thread.

Hip Hip and cherry-ho! Carry on!

Honestly unclad4, It looks better than you box. It fills the area and ascetically looks like it belongs. Matching carpet compared to swap meet carpet is a minimal fix. But to ME, your box looks wrong. thats me.

hahahaha....a-hole! =P j/k

come down here and finish it!

maybe i can convince I hate cars to come down from Bakersfield and trade a weekend of his time for the box!...lol

eggy- as for an amp per driver...it's really just numbers that play a role...at this time JL audio doesn't make a single monoblock with enough power to power these drivers with substantial overhead...

750 - 883 watts RMS per amplifier

12w6v2 rated thermally at 600 watts

2 12's and 1 750/1

1200watts - 883 = 337 lack of power...

or

2 12's and 2 750/1

1200watts - 1766 = 556 of overhead..

MORE OVERHEAD is cleaner power...it won't necessarly be any louder...it's just keepin well within the effeciency range of amplifier...

though with such gains between the enclosure and the cabin gain of the vehicle...during SQ mode..i've measured (with ref sine wave)the output at only 40 ish watts of output...some i'm barely tappin those amps for juice...but orchestral tracks but bump it up to 100 is watts per amp..dynamic range is the name of the game....

hope that explains it for ya..

fuckin jl with their crazy ohm ratings. i just checked before asking my next question and ratings are 1.5-4ohms stable?
how the hell do you drop to 1.5? why wouldn't JL just make it 1 ohm stable?

anyway, my question...the way you have it set up, i'm guessing, each speaker's voice coils are parallel bridged down to 2 ohms? then ran separate, each to it's own amp, so 2 ohm stable setup for each one? (clarify if that's not correct).

wouldn't it be more powerful bridging parallel coils to series then to 1 channel on a 1 ohm stable amp? so, 2 ohm setup to 2 ohm setup (at the speakers) in series makes 1 ohm, then to a 1 ohm stable monoblock.

i've had better luck with that setup than with other poop i've tried.

there is absolutely nothing crazy about them...they make things very simple...wether it be @ 1.5-4 ohms...the amplifier delivers the specified power...

the overall goal is to try and run the amplifier within its efficiency range...

i seriously don't know what everyone's deal is over 1 ohm stability...for the amount of current that it takes for such a lil gain...

lol..yeah got them near completed...and decided that there was entirely too much seperation between the mid and tweeter...reguardless of xover freq and alignment...not to mention do to the intstrument cluster hump the passenger side was unable to recieve the information from the driver's side tweeter with out extreme reflections...so i've already started a new venture...which will remain secereative until its completition in 2011!..ahahaha...just kidding...gotta wait til the fingers heal to complete the car...supposedly 8 weeks...but i'm gonna get back to it probably next week...who knows? I might be able to make cali...i wish =(

Yeah, the thumb thing sucks...I knew you'd come up with an excuse, but you didn't have to go that far jk

How is the tweeter placement you were considering different then the stock location? They are almost identical, aren't they?...

I've now had tweet's in the kicks and stock location. The stock location is much better IMO...staging is higher, no rainbow effect...with the right tuning it sounds excellent.

Hope you heal up o.k., even if your system isn't finished you ought to come up to the meet...
