"System" In The Works!
tsalas...wasn't lookin to do a full headunit swap...the OE system works wonders and looks pretty...and I wanted a OEM integration demo vehicle...so that's where I ended up...our Kenwood representative may give me some of their OEM integration products...
that may be worth a try...
you know...i haven't really though of building these boxes for people here on AZ...how many people would be interested?

As far as the stock headunit (06), does it have RCA jacks on the back?
depending on your application...ie vehicle...i personally think chopping an rca and tapping into the low level signal just before the factory amplifier is the best way.no loc's to fuck with

Eggy you gonna fly out?

sq...
4th order bandpass enclosure designs...
- Huge Cabinent gain...incredible efficiency...much much less power used...more dynamic range...as the driver doesn't have to move as far to produce pressure....ie under extremely loud listening conditions...in excess of 120+ db constantly...i'm able to place my hands on the drivers as they are barely moving.
- No Mechanical Noise...it is naturally filtered by the enclosure design..as the enclosure will only play between 30 - 100 hz...all mechanical noise is well above that...so when properly phase corrected...the sub bass is extraordinarily difficult to localize...
- no 3rd and 4th order harmonics...just as stated above...they're naturally filtered by the enclosure design...
- all sound is directed into the cabin of the vehicle...no excessive pressure in the trunk...no rattles...and a huge benefit to that...is when i wanna show the system...i can have the trunk open and not have any affect on the sound inside the passenger compartment..
the downside to 4th order bandpass enclosures...
a-Size
b- complexity to build
c - complexity to design
d - servicability
however properly executed it is in my honest opinion the best enclosure design imaginable...
just for giggles...we did measure the spl of my vehicle...it was 141.3 DB at the windshield...enough to flex the roof by almost an inch and a half and the windshield wipers dance...not to shabby for a SQ system...again...i gain almost 6 db between 30 -110 hz...

lol...i won't just build and ship off to anyone just yet...you gotta hear it to believe it...sad...I was just in bakersfield going to ashley's furniture...but my car is still in the shop...

-Jason
yep...750/1 to each Driver...plenty of dynamic power...
you'd be surprised to hear that most crazy SQ cars can absolutely rip your head off...the goal is to get as much sound with the smallest amount of cone movement...DYNAMIC!!!

That's what I thought...thanks. Is your car still in the shop?
was taken sunday....hopefully car will be done by thursday....so i can get back to work...which is a bummer...because second set of type x pro's as well as the pxe-h650 will be hand delivered today by alpines sales manager...but soon enough i can finally get back to work on my car...
still on my to do list for the system...
Custom door pods
Custom A-pillars
PXE-H650 Install and calibration
(Possible addition of the Audiocontrol DQS and DDC)
Fabricate and weld custom amprack
Re-build and finish rear sealed enclosure...marble lined with acrylic window trunk side
Finish and Trim trunk
Suede Headliner...
Custom re do seats perferated suede inserts on the black leather and thick red stitching.
i still have a shit ton of work ahead of me...
i'll keep you boys posted
-Jason
Do I sense a 2-tone paint job?
IMO, if they took the time to de-trim the car before painting, they should have also removed the rear tails.
Can't wait to see it finished, Jason!

no 2 tone...just yet...gonna do a full color change eventually...i told him to leave the tails in...he can blend the QP to bumper better with the bumper on the car...
i'll get to this frickin car eventually...

I've heard that unit sounds really good, but the output is really low. You'll probably have to crank up the gains on the amps to get decent levels out of it.
Can't wait to see your finished project...
