Not to sound like a broken record but ME lol! I've been going through hell trying to get good sound out of these things. I finally have but they have to be within a few inches of the trunklid facing rear. Besides the rattles, there's 0 trunk space. I even tried my old Cerwin Vega 15" and it too didn't sound right in the TL. The JLs sounded great in my GN but the TL has never been to my liking.

Did the DNX7100 then kenwood came out with the Car Portal line. They have a great piece that lets you use the factory touch screen. I wanted to be able to use the NAV and have a movie going @ the same time.

Looks good, I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks when it's all done.
As far as the stock headunit (06), does it have RCA jacks on the back?

Thanks Rodney, I saw deathtotoasters thread after I posted, Acura sure made it a PITA to add a sub. Is the best option for adding a sub going from the deck or the stock amp?

depending on your application...ie vehicle...i personally think chopping an rca and tapping into the low level signal just before the factory amplifier is the best way.no loc's to fuck with

Nothing firm yet, usually June/July timeframe...they seem to have it narrowed down to pismo or slo areas

Full scan speak...that would be something to hear...your sub set-up is gonna rock hard Seems like you are going for more spl or maybe sql then straight sq.

sq...

4th order bandpass enclosure designs...

- Huge Cabinent gain...incredible efficiency...much much less power used...more dynamic range...as the driver doesn't have to move as far to produce pressure....ie under extremely loud listening conditions...in excess of 120+ db constantly...i'm able to place my hands on the drivers as they are barely moving.

- No Mechanical Noise...it is naturally filtered by the enclosure design..as the enclosure will only play between 30 - 100 hz...all mechanical noise is well above that...so when properly phase corrected...the sub bass is extraordinarily difficult to localize...

- no 3rd and 4th order harmonics...just as stated above...they're naturally filtered by the enclosure design...

- all sound is directed into the cabin of the vehicle...no excessive pressure in the trunk...no rattles...and a huge benefit to that...is when i wanna show the system...i can have the trunk open and not have any affect on the sound inside the passenger compartment..

the downside to 4th order bandpass enclosures...

a-Size
b- complexity to build
c - complexity to design
d - servicability

however properly executed it is in my honest opinion the best enclosure design imaginable...

just for giggles...we did measure the spl of my vehicle...it was 141.3 DB at the windshield...enough to flex the roof by almost an inch and a half and the windshield wipers dance...not to shabby for a SQ system...again...i gain almost 6 db between 30 -110 hz...

You want a deposit on a box? I've got my rear seats in and it's not too bad with them facing forward but I imagine your box would be a huge improvement.

141 is pretty good....still a little skeptical on the sq part....but definitely want to check out the enclosure. Are you running the 750's to the subs and the 600 to the front stage?

yep...750/1 to each Driver...plenty of dynamic power...
you'd be surprised to hear that most crazy SQ cars can absolutely rip your head off...the goal is to get as much sound with the smallest amount of cone movement...DYNAMIC!!!

Do I sense a 2-tone paint job?

IMO, if they took the time to de-trim the car before painting, they should have also removed the rear tails.

Can't wait to see it finished, Jason!

I've heard that unit sounds really good, but the output is really low. You'll probably have to crank up the gains on the amps to get decent levels out of it.

Can't wait to see your finished project...

I thought it was going to be a vid of the sheetmetal flexing, not the actual structure of the car flexing. My 12W6s don't come anywhere close to that.

So when can I demo??
