Is this possible and if so what is required?
I simply can't afford an 07 but I can afford an 04-05 or so with navi, I'd like MP3 support tho, so let's say I find an 07 Nav unit on ebay... Could I buy it and swap it in? Would it be PnP?

not possible, you would have to change out wire harneeses, navi drive, displays, radio's, etc. If you want MP3 support, you can always do:
A. Ipod adapter that fully controls it
B. Aux in for regular Mp3 Player
C. Dvd player install w/ video interface and w/ audio interface and play mp3 cd's and dvd videos from.

You have to buy aftermarket AUX in.
