Subwoofer install

wassup guys, i know this is all over the place but most threads seem to get off topic lol so pretty much i want to replace my factory sub with a JL 8w3v2, but i wanna kno if you need to get a new amp, how to dynamat it after i put it in, how is it w/wo a box and if possible a DIY for the full install

You are gonna need to amp a 8w3 to likely be happy with it. A small box might be better. If you wanna keep the stock location with the stock amp, then just keep the stock sub too. There are threads around with Dynamat and full install pictures and stuff.

I am on my second sub and forth box with the sub in the factory location. I started with a jl 8"w3 v3 in the deck tray with a dynmate box ( ) not so good so then i add a box and it sounded great but then i just wasn't happy with the out put of an 8" so in came the 10" and a square box hanging of the deck tray. Sounded Great just wans't happy with the trunk space, So redid the box will post some pics later of the finished product. I maintaned most of my usable trunk space.

nice what kind of amp did you get and pics would be cool

Here is a link to part of my install I am working on a website to show past and present projects that will have better pictures/ more but you can see the amp install and some ove the wiring that was done. I replaced all the speakers in the car.
