Subwoofer Control

I have a 2006 TL Navi

I am thinking about getting two JL 12's with a box and amp installed. I would like to disconnect the stock sub and use that wiring so that I can control the subs from the stock head unit. Has anyone done this? Does it work? Any recommendations?

That's how mine is set up. I use the factory head control even though my amp came with a remote. I adjust the amp so that I'm using just the first half of the control (-6 to 0). It sounds cleaner that way, at least with my setup. Seems more distorted and muddy when I get into the + numbers.

I just installled one JL 12w6 and Jl 500/1 today. One 12" is killing me already , i dont want two Jl 12" . My sub has signal sensing so all I did was hook up the stock sub speaker to the amp and It is sound crazy.

I also upgrade all front speakers to INfinity thanks to (Ihate Cars).

I'm running a 12' Kicker solobaric, disconnected stock sub, aftermarket sub can be controlled with stock sub control!

At first i had both subs pounding but it just doesn't sound right...much distortion!
