sub damages nav?

went to a local car audio to get my sub and amp install today and the tech told me that the sub vibration could damage the dvd nav component in the trunk. has anyone have any problem with their nav unit in the trunk after a sub install?

I have a JL 12W6 powered by a JL 500/1 in a sealed box. No problems with navi whatsoever. I guess it depends on how much thump you thinking about. I pound mine from time to time, and have yet to see navi freeze or give any error message

I have a serious aftermarket system (see sig) running over 2000 watts. I crank it often and have never experienced any issues with the nav system. In addition, I've lowered the ride w/ TEIN SS on 19' rims, so it is a stiffer ride than stock...again, no issues. Finally, I have golf clubs and other items bangin' around the unit and no problems. I have to imagine the nav/dvd system was engineered to handle a lot of abuse...that's my experience anyway

I'm sure the Nav unit is manufactured with the same isolation structures used in standard automotive cd players and changers. This means the rotation mechanism and laser are going to be isolated from the frame of the car with rubber bushings at a minimum and possibly floating on springs.

Anyways, I agree with the other guys here in thinking that subs in the trunk will have very little if any impact on the nav DVD player. BRING ON THE BASS!

I had the 2 12' JL Audio W6's Than I replaced it to get alot louder with the 2 12" MTX's 7500, It doesn't affect my car, you should not blast it really loud when you using navigation than?? haha
