Street Label Absence 05 NAVI
Street Label Absence 05 NAVI
I have a 2005 Navi. However, I have decided that I don't like the Nav system quite as much as the Kenwood aftermarket system I had in my last vehicle. The main reason is the street labels. My Kenwood had a 6.5 inch screen, smaller than in my TL, but the Nav system would put readable labels on almost every street on the map. So if I was driving, I could read just about every cross street name.
This comes in very handy when I am going somewhere that I haven't been before in an area that I am familiar with, when I don't need to program the nav. Say I know that I need to turn right on California street. On my Kenwood, just a quick look at the map, I would know that it was the fourth street on the right. On the TL, I have no idea unless I programmed the destination, or used the cursor to pinpoint each street (dangerous while driving).
I have searched for an option to increase the labels, but can find none. Anybody know how to change this?

I think this is an excellent candidate for an enhancement request for Alpine/Navteq (dunno who would be more appropriate), cuz it would not require a hardware change. All they would have to do is to add the labels to the street map, which is something they update every year anyhow.
