Question Strange problem with the Navi..

Going on a trip to Cincy next weekend. Did a map quest direction list because my POI was not in the TL's nav system. Well I compared it to what the TL navi had and it was off by like 160 miles.
So i compared the step by step directions with map quest compared to the route listing that the Navi unit came up with and it was pretty much identical. I mean within a mile or so max.
WTF? It still was way off on the total mileage to destination.
I have not used the Navi much in the 12 months I have used the car but can someone help me out? Why would it be off some much in mileage even though the directions are accurate?

Which gave the larger number, Mapquest or your navi? I'm wondering if one of them was using "as the crow flies" and the other was summing the total distance on each road. Weird problem, though.

The nav was showing 222 and mapquest 388.

So, if you add up all the miles in both cases, do they agree and only the "Total Miles" summary is off?

Also, have you tried other mapping services, such as Google, to see what they say?

Total miles is off on the Navi but the maps & directions are the same. I will check another mapping site.

Mapquest is notoriously inaccurate. Google maps seems to be bulletproof.
