It's really hard to say but with the failure rate of the stock amp I would say that's the most likely cause. Have you tried fading all the way to the rear to see how loud they are and how they sound?

Yes,if you turn up radio to 30 and then put the fader to the rear its about half the level of the fronts.huge difference from the fronts,i have a jeep cherokee with a small stereo upgrade, which has a 8" sub in small box.well under a cube with about 150 watts and it has a decent punch you can slightly feel.i guess i was kinda expecting something similar

The TL's biggest audio flaw when stock is a lack of power IMO. It's hard to say because it's been so many years since mine was stock but I think the rears were almost the same level as the fronts when everything on the HU was neutral. The earlier TLs, '04 and possibly '05 had a different setup where the rears were not as loud.

I'm still leaning toward the stock amp but it's hard to say since the stock sub is pretty weak and you're coming from an aftermarket system.

In my 07 the fronts are a quite a bit louder with the fader centered. The sub is ok on some songs.(for being factory)

Performance will cost you 10x more for not alot of gains! Stereo upgrades are way more satisfying and able to be enjoyed on every drive. And i am older than you.

Just be prepared, the bang for the buck in performance for the TL is exceptionally low. That's why mine is stock. I would love better acceleration but it's just not happening.

I have the same issue with the rear speakers having less volume than the front. But my problem is that someone installed aftermarket speakers and used 4ohm instead of 2ohm. With the resistance diffrence it makes the rears a lot lower. im going to replace them when time allows. have you checked to make sure you have oem speakers? if you do have oem speakers still then i bet like everyone else suggest the amp is crapping out.

the $900 i put into audio mods gave me 30WHP. or at least it feels like it! I have double that in performance mods and it didnt make my stereo sound any better!
