I have read on here alot about replacing the stock speakers with Polk DB651s speakers. 1 post I found says that the sound will clip if I don't disconnect the dash tweeters since the factory door speakers are 2ohm and the polks are 4 ohm. I am only looking to upgrade the 2 door speakers right now, could anyone confirm or deny if I will experience clipping if I don't disconnect the dashboard tweeters? Thanks.

 

2 ohm door speakers will solve your problem.

 

I just installed these speakers in my 07 type s today. I only listened to them for about 2 minutes but they sound much better than stock. I didn't hear any clipping. I have read a few posts that say running 4 ohm speakers up front will not hurt anything. Install was simple and the speakers were cheap. I say give it a try.

 

Stay 2 ohm to get all the volume you can. infinity and jbl are both 2 ohm and are priced good (49-69.00/pr)
