Stock alarm settings?

So about 2 weeks ago I drive home from going out with some friends. I come home and thought I remembered hitting the lock button. Yes this is where it goes down. So my friend come and picks me up we go out for most of the day come back in the house. We were going to go back out, but take my car this time and as we walk up to the car i notice my drivers side door barely open. The thief got me for a empty sun glasses case, some back pain meds, cologne and my Itouch.

So thinking about this I wanted to know if anyone know if there is a autolock setting? because I tested if the car would autolock and it seems only if you unlock it and dont open the door in time. Not if your in the car and get out.

if so there a way to change it? or if not what would be the best aftermarket alarm to get? any advice would be helpful.

Mahalos,

Not that I know of. Your best bet is to hit the lock twice and listen for the beep. Don't "think" you lock it. Always be sure.

Yes, it can be programmed with at the MID, at least on the '04-'06 models. Can't remember how I did it since the last time was late '05 but I remember it was pretty self explanatory once I started messing with it. I think you can set how long it takes to lock once you get out of the car and close the door.

Don't forget, thieves have code stealers. They can get your code when you lock and unlock your car using the remote. It's best to lock and unlock with the key if you see any suspicious people hanging around. I guess it's one of the only good things about Acura's ridiculously short remote range.
