Stereo wont play CD
Stereo wont play CD
I need some help with my stereo. SOmetime when i start my car my stereo has a couple problems. First is that when i try to load a cd it keeps saying DISK BUSY and then when i hit the eject button nothing happens. Im not sure what i can do. Someone said to try n reset it manually but i dont know how to do that. ANy help or andvise would be greatly appreciated.
I also just noticed that cd 1 is not showing up on the home screen. And when i press the cd/disk button is says cd format then goes to busy. Im not sure if there is a cd stuck in there or what. Can anyone please help!!
Unfortunately I have seen more and more threads regarding the CD players breaking in these. This is the reason I decided to go with an aftermarket for my demo car build, even though it was much more work/expense. I can't tell you exactly what is wrong, but you are probably looking at having to replace it. I do have my old one (working fine) if you want to keep factory. PM me if you want.
okay thank you for your input! i might try to take it to my local audio place and see what they can do. if not i might go with an aftermarket double din. If not how much are you willing to sel yours for?
I had a similar problem yesterday. I tried turning the unit off and back on, turned engine off and back on. Nothing worked. The red light in the center kept flashing.
Then I tried pressing the disk buttons on the bottom, maybe it was #3 or 4 which also has the > symbol and the red light stopped flashing and I was able to eject the disk and it has been working fine since.
I hadn't had a problem like this before and for a while I thought I would have to bring it in. I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.
One possible clue to what happened is that I was right near the end of disk #6, but powered off the unit before it advanced to disk #1. I'm wondering when it powered back on, if it found itself in a no-man's land and kept giving a Busy message. Maybe the > key caused it to advance. I'm not really sure, but it's worth a try.
