Stereo Removal and/or RCA Input?

Stereo Removal and/or RCA Input?
I have an 05 TL without the Navi system, and I'd like to be able to use my mp3 player in my car.
I've read somewhere that the XM unit (which I never use and don't ever plan to) is just an RCA input in the back of the stereo and that you can just unplug it and use that input for whatever you want.
My goal is simply to run an RCA Y cable (standard red/white connectors on one end, headphone jack on the other) into that input. Nothing fancy, just functional.
So my question is twofold:
1) Is it actually true that there's a standard RCA jack in the back being used by the XM tuner?
2) If so, what is the best way to gain access to the back of the stereo for the purpose of swapping that cord with an RCA cable from my mp3 player?
I have no desire to remove the entire stereo, though I will if that's the only way to get to the connector.
I know there are probably threads on both of these topics, but I've searched a few times and haven't found any guides, so if you have done this before or can point me to an existing thread or resource I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

2) Some members have been able to reach behind the HU and pull out the plug with a coat hanger or long flathead screwdriver. Others just remove the driver's side trim to gain access to the rear of the HU.
Check out this thread regarding the USA Spec: THE alternative to MusicLink is here.... See pages 3 and 5.
Another device you should take a look at is the Blitzsafe AUX DMX.
Good luck!

Personally, I am just surprised that "rbf351" beat "datmrman" to respond first. I mean honestly - 40 minutes lag time. What, datmrman, do you have an acutal life or something?

I got the Blitzsafe and have successfully installed it.
I've got it running into the back of my stereo with the XM cable hooked up to the passthrough.
I can get the 2 default XM stations (I'm not a subscriber), so I know that at least the audio is getting through the thing.
However, I can't get the sound from my mp3 player to come over the stereo. When I switch to XM I only hear the two XM stations loud and clear; I can't hear my mp3's at all.
Help?
