Steering Wheel Control for XM

Hey all -
question.... right now, when I use the Channel button up or down on my steering wheel, I simply go through any XM presets. If I want to go channel by channel, I need to turn the big silver knob. Wouldn't you think you can go channel-by-channel from the steering wheel? Our friend has a new Tahoe with XM and their steering wheel channel button goes through each XM channel, not presets.

Any way to change this on the TL?

For that matter, can we make more than 6 presets? Haven't noticed how yet.

You can get 12 presets, right? XM1 and XM2. Nothing too exciting there.

I want the preset to say the station name (or a fraction of it) instead of the channel number. The channel number doesn't mean anything to me. I don't see a way to do this.

And on the first questions, I don't know of any way to go station by station from the steering wheel. Only preset to preset.

it gets easier, its kinda like remembering your TV Channels, its made easier because its all catagorized by 10's which is great so you can scroll in just that section which is even cooler.

Besides the fact that we can't go channel by channel on the steering wheel, I wish there was a way to fast forward tracks from the steering wheel. Wouldn't it just make sense to fast forward when holding down the buttons on the wheel?

I believe you can go channel by channel. If you press the "Audio" button when it is tuned to XM, press the category button (or something like that) on the navigation screen. It should switch between category and channel. Then you should be able to change the channel then. That's how it works on my Accord.

No doubt. In order to FFWD in a track you have use the buttons on the center stack. Holding down the channel button on the steering wheel doesn't have the same behavior. Doh!
