anyone ever integrated their steering wheel controls into an aftermarket radio without buying the $150+ adapter?????

any advice?

and yes this means im installing a 2 din pioneer touch screen in place of my stock radio.

DVD, bluetooth, touch screen FTW!

no navi tho oh well.

an idea...

 

thats cool but im doing the opposite.
im gonna have a amp in my new radio and i want to use the stock wiring originally going from the face to the amp, bypass the amp and connect the wiring from the face directly to the output wires of the amp so that the pioneer amplifies and manages the speakers in the cabin.

i looked everywhere and no luck on finding an amp bypass so i'll have to splice into all the output and speaker wires and combine them []-/

 

yeah I never bothered looking for a female to the output side of the amp.

 

well i tried it with the stock amp and it sounds GREAT!!!!!
the new headunit gives me much more control over the audio and the amp is very clear with the new radio.
i'll take pics when i get my bluetooth unit in and write up a small how to


and FYI
those wiring harnesses that they sell on ebay with the RCAs integrated are wrong.
the amp remote turn on is wrong! it's on the big grey plug (yellow/red)

I just purchased the radio kit with the steering wheel controls in the link above.

WOULD I HE ABLE TO BUY ANY SINGLE DIN RADIO AND THE STEERING WHEELS CONTROLS WORK?







Also, since I'm inexperienced with systems, can someone give me an idea of a good intermediate radio that I could plug/link/bluetooth my phone to so that I could play music off my phone from?
