Sprint Katana II update

I ordered a new Katana II phone from Sprint last week and received it yesterday. I was not sure this phone would work with my ’05 TL, since it is not on the approved list on Acura’s web site. But the original Katana passed all test so I took a chance. The new phone was easy to pair with the system, and from what I have been able to see so far works fine. I get icons for signal strength, battery, and the MID changes when the phone is being used. I transferred calls both to the phone and to the hand free system with no problem. The redial command work fine as well. I have called out and received calls, so I think I’m going to like the new Katana II.

Phonebook support?

Hello,

I'm interested in this phone with the '07 TL that supports phonebook download. Does anyone have information as to whether this phone works with this feature?

Thanks.

Agree on the Katana II review. Just got mine today and it paired effortlessly and the MID display is good. Only one voice dial so far, and it was easy.

After I have Spint transfer my contacts, I'll try to upload the phonebook. Probably over the weekend.

Does NOT work. Not supported. Tried it today.

It does do the contact import 1 by 1. It will load all the numbers for a given contact (Home, Office, Mobile) in one transfer. This feature is pretty slick, but probably a bit of a hassle if you have ALOT of numbers.

Since this is not my daily driver, I only needed a few numbers for family and the most common work numbers.

I replaced my Samsung with Katana DLX phone, and I can't get it to work reliably. When I answer a first call, HFL turns off almost immediately, but the call stays up, with working microphone in phone, but sound from the phone going to non working HFL. Only subsequent calls work. Also I can't dial on the phone and talk on HFL, unless I manually transfer the call after it is connected. Anyone has a better luck with DLX?

Actually, this part is working correctly. If you initiate the call (or answer) WITH THE PHONE HANDSET, it "untethers" the phone from the HFL. To "re-tether" the phone, you have to use the HFL "transfer" command.

Can't help with the other problem except to say that on a couple of occasions, I've had a similar problem answering a call on the HFL. I either re-connect or dis-connect/re-connect to the HFL using the BlueTooth Menu on the phone handset and it seems fine from there forward.

FWIW - on the Katana II, I have noticed that incoming Text Messages register on the MID/HFL as an "Incoming Call". You (obvioulsy) can't answer, but I was stumped for a while - couldn't figure out who was calling and/or why I couldn't answer.

You probably mean "Voice Priority" settings in Bluetooth menu. Mine is set to "Hands Free"

Sounds like our phones have different Bluetooth settings. I don't have that ^^.

On one or two occasions, I've had to go (on the phone):

Menu --> Tools --> Bluetooth --> Select the "Hands Free Link" device --> Choose "Connect".

Not sure why it would need to be re-connected and as I said, it's rare - only had to do once or twice.
