Speakers went kaput

2006 TL 142k miles
oem sat nav /radio speakers
driving down the road listening to a podcast I hear a pop from the center speaker and lose audio.
radio and sat nav work just no sound unless I crank it all the way up.
when I do that I can faintly hear.No crackling sound and checked fuse 5/7/15/22/23/32 nonissue there
did my amplifier finally crap out?
suggestions?

sounds like the amplifier to me too.. i would go get a replacement from a junkyard or get yours rebuilt by Phantom Audio, Lots of folks have had their amps upgraded by Jesse here and swear by it!

Sounds like one or more caps in the amplifier died. I second phantom audio, running that amp in my 3G TL and well worth the $$. You can DIY the repair but you always risk another IC being bad causing issues in the future. The ones from Phantom are fully checked out and he repairs the amps to be better than factory with quality parts.
