Speakers amp install? Does this sound right

ok please chime in and tell me what u think? i dont want to use a box and sub woofer, i just want to replace the factory sub , and door and back dash speakers?dont care for the mid in front dash. do i need a 6 or 5 chnnl amp to add to this as i want to bypass the factory amp? im goin to use Alpine PXE-H650 for my sound processor.also, will i need to get componant 6 1/2s for door and replace the tweeters also? will a 6 chnnl amp power the tweeters too? what do u suggest on the rear dash, 2 way 6 1/2s? i just want more power and clarity crispy no boom boom boom stuff.

What is your budget. You can run the front components active, which will take 4 channels, or use the crossover which will take 2.

You will get much better suggestions if you post a total budget and any equipment that you might have already.

my budget is the best deals i can find on the net or ebay. lol Apline being my brand for all the speakers.i jus want to replace the 2 door speakers, and rear dash speakers and factory 8" sub. so i guess my question is , do i need 5.1 chnl amp or 6.1 chnl amp? another words, when replaceing the front door speakers and front tweeters( them being componant), is that considered 2 or 4 chnnls? and does anyone suggest using 2 way 6 1/2s for the back dash or leave those 2 componant type?

Alpine sucks. Any drop in 8" will suck. Don't waste money on the rear unless you're running a processor like an MS8.

This has been gone over literally hundreds of times on here. If you search you will see tons of options and what other people have done in the 7 years the 3g has been out.

A large 4 channel could work nice. Use 2 channels to power a nice set of components (with the crossover) and bridge the other 2 channels for a sub. Leave the stock rears in there - they aren't awful for fill and using a tweeter in the back will jack up your stage move it too far back.

I get that it is hard to search on this stuff. Just hang around and read for a few weeks and it will start to make sense.

I am not sure what "best deals" means. I would be thrilled with another set of Be No. 7s for $1000 - that is a best deal to me, but not others. Look for some used Image Dynamics components if you like soft domes - you get a lot of bang for your buck with these. If you like metal tweeters, then look for some Focals, Boston Pro 60s or some Phass. The Focal or Phass will cost you a pretty penny even used, but they are worth it if you can afford them. I would stay away from Alpine, Infinity of JL Audio for components.

I don't care for JL's comps either but putting them in the same category as Infinity and Alpine is a little harsh. They sound better than the Alpines and Infinities but the price tag makes them unattractive. IMO they were comparable to my ID CTX65cs but the ZR's tweeter was too harsh and they cost more than twice as much. Although one review I found said they were the best 6.5" period.

ok what chnl amp do i need to push 2 speakers in the front door, 2 tweets on the front dash, and the back dash speakers and sub? 5.1 or 6.1? im not lookin to spend a fortune on a crazy silly fresh loud boom box system, jus a lil more power then what i have rt now(factory) is all i want. i do plan on customizing the rear 8" woofer as far as enclosing it better, i have seen that done on here. and should i stick with componant 6 1/2 on the back dash instead of installing 2 ways?

5 channels if you use the crossovers. 7 channels if you run the front comps active (without the crossovers).

Go and find a used Memphis Big Belle. Might be a good 5 channel for you.

I know but you know we would have been talking about the Type S or Type R comps in this scenario.

Yeah, that stuff is garbage

But, the type x pro's are "decent". The old f1 comp set was cool, too. Along with a couple other gem's.

Nothing wrong with Alpine, processor's or even some Alpine amp's when used in the right system correctly, ALPINE F1 & F12 amps & F1 h/u is still the drivers GOD uses in the chariot,

Meca MODEX world champion uses Alpine Processing & Alpine class D amp's

OK. Alpine makes some decent gear..and some not so decent gear.

1. DO NOT get components for the rear fill as it will move your soundstage too far back

2. PLEASE post a budget for an amp, components, sub (total). It will make this much easier

3. Do you already have the Alpine processor?

4. Will you be installing this or having this installed? If not, we will need to factor that into your cost.

5. What music types do you listen to?

If you're not looking for anything too crazy, a set of components and a 10" or 12" in a small sealed box like this (https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/new-custom-sub-enclosure-pics-824695/) or the Unclad4 enclosure will look factory, take up hardly any room and you'll get MUCH more from it than any 8" free-air.

ok so get 2 way 6 1/2 for rear? whats the deal on those cadence mid bass 6 1/2s, would those work good for back dash? i already got an 8 inch jl sub on the way, rockford 5 chnnl amp, may put it in a box as thin and small as i can find,my budget is around 2000.i just have never had to spend so much to get good sound in my life, i been out of the car audio loop for a while. 2 vehicles ago, i let go of all my jbl 12" subs , amps and stuff.i cant listen to music really loud anymore, but i want good quality.i do have the alpine processor. i will have it installed, as my health will not let me do all the install stuff anymore. i like mostly classic rock, some dance stuff, not much techno anymore.oh, i have a JBL bp600.1 for sale if anyone is interested.

Honestly, save your money on the rears. Just amp them as the stock will be fine for the slight rear fill. I have my fade nearly all the way to the front. Spend that money elsewhere

u really think so, the rockford R600-5 won't blow them? i also have INFINITY KAPPA 60.9CS 6.5"s for the front on the way.

I would go with a different amp. I'm not sure if you're shopping at like Best Buy or a local audio shop b/c you're getting Alpine, Rockford, etc but there is MUCH better out there for MUCH less.

If you're dead set on running rears...just run a set of coaxials back there instead of components. You might as well not even use the RF amp because that's close to what the factory amp puts out lol. Spend that money on deadener for the rear deck because you're going to need it! Especially if you're doing a sub in the factory location

Stock rears are perfect if you HAVE to run rears. Most people don't want a tweeter back there for the reasons mentioned earlier. The clarity will surprise you once you add an amp. I ran mine off of 75 watts for a couple years and no problems. They get pretty loud but I had to cross them over at 120hz or they would bottom at higher levels.

There are literally TONS of amps likely cheaper and definitely better than that. I'll give you a good head start tomorrow. I'm sure other members will throw in a few too.

If you went with an SA-8 or a 10 sealed it would barely be noticeable and play MUCH louder and sound waay better. Do it right the First time or I can 99.9% guarantee you'll be upgrading very shortly. I'll name a few sub routes tomorrow also.

Have you already purchased the Inifinity's? Can you return them? Lol

lol damn man, i read so many good things about the kappas.lol yes they are purchased. ok i would love to know these better and cheaper 5 chnll amps for my setup then the rockford. im confused as to how an sa-8 could be barely noticeable but play much louder and way better, can u explain that to me? imma stick with the jl sub rt now. it was around my price range. if i absolutly have to upgrade i have to wait till i save more money.just need to decide if im goin to use this rockford amp to start with or get one u suggest if there is in fact a cheaper and better one. and decide if im gonna replace the rear dash speakers.i do not want to buy used amps, had wayyy to many problems buying used electronics off the net.

Barely noticeable as in is takes up hardly anything in your trunk being sealed and a small sub. Plenty of subs that require very small boxes when sealed. SQ and output will increase 10-fold over a 8" "free-air" sub in a flemsy rear deck.

The RF p600-5 is rockfords lowest line and is just cheap. Go with at least the punch line if you have to go with RF. I'm out on site at one of our drilling rigs today but I can later.

Where were you reading reviews on speakers by the way? Lol

Most 5 channel amps are a bit lacking, especially cheaper ones. For that kind of money see if you can find the older:

25 to Life Rockford Fosgate
Trans Ana Rockford Fosgate
JL Audio 500/5
or
Memphis Belle (big or baby)

1. Cadence CWM-6KIT
2. Phoenix Gold RSD65cs (@ woofersetc.com)

3. PPI 356CS

My personal opinion is to get ahold of $30 more and go with http://www.woofersetc.com/p-6201-ctx...er-system.aspx

1. That cadence set is ok for the price. Tweets are harsh like infinity stuff.
2. Rsd's aren't worth 150 bucks. 80(what they retailed for) is pushing it.
3. no longer available.

Yah, the ctx65cs have to be the best reviewed "cheap" speaker.

I got mine for $130 a couple week ago, but prices are up again.

$145 on ebay new though.

oh and for the amp-
Sonicelectronix has a couple hifonics amp refurbed for cheap. Saw it up on the hotdeals section of DIYMA. They're not high end, but probably at least as good as the low end RF stuff.

What's your budget for a sub stage?

Quad jbl gto 8's should be <250 and work in <1.5 cubes
