Speaker help.

Hello so i recently purchased a 2008 Tl Type S,

After i got home i realized one of the door speakers was blown or starting to crap out. I was looking on ebay for a replacement but then i wasnt sure if the type S has a different speaker then the base models? Any input?

Also is there an guides on removing the front door speakers?

And it didnt come with a owners manual again looked on ebay wasnt sure if the type s has their own special one or they are all universal?

If you dont plan on upgrading any sound audio in your car, than your best bet will be to get a replacement from ebay, type s and regular tl have the same system from my understanding. If you plan on purchasing new speakers, you will need to create new speaker rings for that car. which are kinda pain in the ass if you ask me. OEM replacement will be the best solution for you.

I'm positive you know what you are doing but just to share my experience... I had my '07 TL-S for a couple of years before I noticed one of my front speakers was starting to crackle (blown). I played all sorts of songs until I was sure of what speaker it was. Took it to the dealership and they replaced the speaker that I thought was blown(the service tech didn't know what sound I was talking about and apparently neither did I).

Got the car back and the same crackle still... I realized that it wasn't the door speaker but somehow it was the tweeter near the windshield. Had to humbly take the car back in and have the right one replaced only for it to sound like new again. Damn sound must have been thrown off the windshield and right into my ear every time I put my head right up to the door speaker...

Hope you get yours fixed quickly!
