speaker fitting problem
I'm about to buy two pairs of jl audio tr650-cxi 61/2 for my 06 acura tl. Based on the picture below, it looks like it will screw onto the white plastic spacers but it doesnt look like the holes on the jl audios are out far enough to screw down on the rear decc. Are there other holes for the screws besides those three that are kinda far out there? Please help!

The rear speakers bolt directly onto the rear deck. There are only the 3 bolt holes. Some cutting may be needed if the opening of the deck is smaller that the mounting hole of the speaker unless you use some MDF rings. I'm not sure if these are just drop-ins.
Just wondering why you are adding coaxials to the doors when you already have a tweeter in the dash. Better to go with components in the front and coaxials in the rear. I'm assuming your adding an amp too since these speakers are 4 ohm and the stock speakers are 2 ohm. The stock amp won't be able to drive them efficently. Just my opinion.
good luck

I've had these in the TL before and if you don't use the MDF rings, you have to cut the heck out of the doors. An amp is necessary. With these powered by the stock amp, I lost a bit of volume over the stock speakers.
I made my own rings for $.01. If you already have a jig saw, buy a small sheet of 5/8" MDF. I'm terrible at woodworking but this was beyond easy.

Thank you all for the help. I'm not gonna add an amp to it. I do have a kenwood excelon radio already installed and I think that would push it good enough. As to why im adding coaxials to the door, i guess cause the coaxials are cheaper.

OK,
Sounds like you're on a budget and trying to get the biggest bang for your buck. Totally understand. The Kenwood stuff is pretty good and it will serve you well.
