Sound System with factory head unit (LOC)

Hey AZ,

I am looking to upgrade my audio and ran into a few concerns.

I want to kno what wires in the stock unit harness are going to be connected to the LOC? What color wires correspond to left/right signal?

All comments regarding my install are greatly appreciated.
Any feedback is very helpful! Thanks

1)why LOC? most amps and DSPs have built-in LOCs

2)you can buy a scanned copy of the factory user manual for about $10
google it
it won't be a legal copy, but you are not the one who stole it
you'll find colors in there and much much more
it's actually rather crazy to attempt the upgrade without having the manual

3) comments regarding WHAT install?

nevermind actually. I dont need to know what color wires are left/right speaker signals. Instead do you know where the remote wire connects inside the car? Any input is helpful!

The colors from that scan didnt match up with my 2004 TL. Does it matter which year it is?

hmm ... odd mine's 05 and they match
i'll check later at home for another version of the manual

make sure you're looking at the correct connector, it's the smaller black one at the amp

there ARE different revisions of the manual and the one i have is different from what's been posted

however the pin-outs and the colors are IDENTICAL

so, unless your car was made on a Friday and they were out of proper colored wires, you may be looking at the wrong connector after all

that or the audio part of the manual for 04' only is different from the rest of the 3rd gen
in that case if the pin-outs match as far as blanks, there is a chance the equipment remained the same in later years, but the color coding had changed
it's risky, but you can try going by the pin numbers
