Hi guys, i recently purchased and updated the navi. However, I notice something seems "odd". Before I update my navi my navi setup screen tap 4 said my software version is 1.1 (but I had 3.5 disc inside). Now I updated to 3.9 but the software version said it is 1.5. What does the software version mean? or is it something wrong with my navi unit

Your Navi is fine.
Each updated DVD has software updates which load into the Navi software-- each letter version of a disk has a software update, like 3.40b to 3.40c, as does each higher-numbered disk.
The software changes correct problems in prior versions and/or increases operational efficiency.
