order another "New" one off amazon for $50 shipped (returning the refurbished one) and it came in today. install took a little while (used the "quick" method) but it went smoothly. sound and text are working great

 

Hell yeah, damn man you went through a lot of trouble to get your ipod tunes rolling in your car. Where do you rest your pod? I am rocking cable through center console for now and that shit is way worse than texting and driving and I don't like the distraction.

i just ran it under some panels. will post pics this weekend.....waaayyyyy too tired from work today. one thing i didn't seem to get working was the auxiliary jack (headphone jack) that i could use to hookup my laptop/phone/other mp3 players. anyone care to shed some light on this? ipod works in AUX1 and IPOD mode, but AUX2 does not play through the auxiliary jack.

 

how do you get distracted? mine's in my center compartment and I dont even touch the actual ipod at all.
