So I finally lost my mind... Esotar comps.
I made the decision to pull the trigger on this stuff. Buying the Esotar 650 tomorrow and the 430 midrange next Friday to replace my Esotec 162 and 142 speakers. Keeping the 102 tweeters since I'm not willing to cut the car up to install the esotar tweeters... Plus I think with a midrange that will play up to 7khz the esotar tweeter loses some of it's edge over the esotec tweeter.
Who would have thought back in '06 when I installed the Infinities and the 12W6s in a too small box that I would one day be using a set of comps in which a single midrange cost more the same as both of my 12W6s. This really is a sickness and the guilt is setting in already. I'm a little excited as well.
Keep in mind, I'm doing this while being thoroughly satisfied and impressed with the current system every time I get in the car. The level it's at right now never gets boring, I take the long way home all the time just to listen to the radio a little longer and now I'm upgrading for no good reason.
So I'll say this once and for all, never upgrading again after this one... well maybe the center could be a little better.
The final system consists of:
Dyn 102
Dyn 430
Dyn 650
MA SK-6
AE IB15x2
JL HD600/4
JL HD900/5
JBL MS8
Give it a couple more years and I'm going to be one of those losers with a system worth more than the car. However, I got a deal on a 335D chipped with nearly 700lbs of torque and 45mpg on the freeway for a great price. I might pick it up this weekend. I'm not even sure which car I want the better system to go in but I think the TL would be easier.
Even with what I have now it's interesting how a bad tune can make it sound worse than stock but a good tune will make you add 30 minutes to each trip just to continue listening.
Anyway, just venting/rambling so I'm not thinking too much about the retarded amount of money being spent on car audio.

You ever pick up (rather place an order and wait 7 months) for the AE SBP15's?? I'm starting to want that something else in my setup. These rk6's and my lack of tuning is likely the problem. These guys can pump out some midbass that hits with so muc authority and sounds like the door is about to blow off...but I feel like I can't get that meshed vocal/midrange/midbass. Any advice for tuning or anything?? One of these days I'll put the ID CXS mids and tweets in but it's hard with school/work

You should've said something. I've had one drink all year, I'm due for another. There's a SoCal audio meet in LA next weekend. I'm going if I can get my new stuff in time.

You should have looked in the for sale section. I literally just sold my 5month old Dyn midbasses for $250 with warranty.
