Sirius capability
Is anyone aware of either of the following:
1. Can you keep the stock TL radio (non nav system) and get some kind of internal electronics or chip to get Sirius instead of the XM bands?
2. Does anyone sell an after-market combo radio/CD changer that has Sirius and will fit in the TL?
I want Sirius because of the NFL but that separate radio/suction cup thing is so ugly and obtrusive I'd never get it unless I can do one of the above.

Read about my SIRIUS install here:

Once you've listened to the superior programing at SIRIUS you'll forget
all about AM, FM & XM.
SIRIUS ROCKS BABY!

Thanks!
How did you run the cassette adaptor (I don't see a wire from the unit into your casette player but it could be because the pic is dark)
Do you know what specific mounting bracket you used? I know you got it at best-buy but was it something JVC makes specifically for this model or do you know who made it or the part number? That's my main area of concern (finding the right mounting bracket)
The other idea I am toying with is using the suction cup in my cup holder. From the looks of it, the cup and power adaptor will sit nicely in the console and be able to be covered when I pull the radio out, but I have not measured this yet. Hate to lose a cup holder but it would be nice to be all out of site when not in use.
Thanks!!!

I really have to take some more pics.
The mounting bracket is a called "Bracketron Dash Mounting Kit for Select Satellite Radio Receivers Model# UNI-45-03. It's on the Best Buy web site for
$30. This works for me because I have to have a 7-11 coffee in the morning on my way to work - I didn't want to lose the cup holder either.
The wire from the Sony cassette adaptor is wrapped around the back of the bracket.
Like I said, I really got to get around to taking more pics.
Enjoy your Sirius!

Thanks! Yeah if you could take some more pics of the cassette, antenna (really would like to see how that looks inside) etc. that would be a great service to all of us. Thanks for considering it and nice install!!!

So, I finally got around to taking some more pics.
Here's the dash mounted antenna:
http://home.earthlink.net/~jmp54/sit...tenna_view.jpg
Here's a side view of the mounting bracket:
http://home.earthlink.net/~jmp54/sit.../side_view.jpg
Here's a side view of the casette adapter:
http://home.earthlink.net/~jmp54/sit...sette_view.jpg
And, once again a driver's view:
http://home.earthlink.net/~jmp54/sit...rius_in_22.jpg
This is a quick, EASY!, inexpensive way to get SIRIUS in your TL.
Unfortunatly Studog, you can't get SIRIUS with an XM radio.
Happy listening!

SIRIUS22...hopefully you see this message. This is an old thread but I can't send you a PM
You have inspired me and I am going to take the plunge but have two questions for you:
1. You mention that you purchased a separate sony tape adaptor. Do you have a name/model number for this?
2. Do you know if this type of adaptor will eventually burn out the head on the tape player? I am unfamiliar on how they work.
THANKS!
