Siemens S56 and Bluetooth Power Save??
Siemens S56 and Bluetooth Power Save??
Hey guys and gals,
Did some quick searching and couldn't find an answer to this. For those of you using a Siemens S56 recall that the pairing instructions say you should turn off "sniff" mode before pairing the phone. Well when you disable the "sniff" mode it asks if you would like to enable/disable powersave. So all that the "sniff" is is some type of "half-on" power saving mode.
Here's my deal...the battery life on the S56 SUCKS without the "sniff" on. Has anyone messed around with the setting? I turned the "sniff" back on for a couple days. Every few (10 or so) minutes the phone and the car would lose connection and then they would find each other again. Also, when this happened on the phone there was an "interal bluetooth error" message displayed. However, it never lost connection when I was on the phone actually talking through the handsfree.
I am willing to bet that if you can put up with the phone losing connection every so often, you will get much better battery life. And l like I said, when you are actually talking it doesn't seem to lose connection.
Anyone have any thoughts? Similar experiences?
Thanks,
tx
