I have only done a few searches with my Navi and they have not given satisfactory results. First I searched for a Wachovia Bank, while the list came up with several, it did not include many branches that I know were within my area. To test, I did the search within a few blocks of a branch I use and it didn't show. Second, and more of an issue, I did a restaurant search and came up with a listing for CO and once in TX. For example, there are 2 Palm steakhouses in Miami. Neither one showed up. To get directions, I had to plug in the exact address, but the search doesn't seem to work well for me. Others find this too?

 

I live in Toronto and I assumed the POI coverage was iffy here but better in the U.S. Apparantly not. I found the POI in Toronto to be very odd. For example, Tim Hortons is the most popular coffee and sandwich chain in southern Ontario and they never come up on a search. However, the little hole in the wall take out Chinese place I go to is in the Navi. I have found some but not all of the KFCs in the POI in Toronto.

I would love to know how Alpine determines what goes in as a POI.
