Searching For The Best Navi To Dvd Video Thread

I've Been Looking Around The Forum For A While Now Trying To Figure Out How To Convert The Navi System To Dvd Video. Does Anyone Have A Link To A Thread That Really Breaks It Down Step By Step And Can Explain All The Parts Needed? Thanks

Why Do You Capitalize The First Letter Of Every Word? There are plenty of threads on this...

You cannot just throw a DVD in the Navi drive and have it play, so you need a conversion unit that will take a video signal and display it on the screen (toggle between Navi and video input). I know of 3 units (AVElectronic, Voslokvo (something like that), DomofNaviWithTV)

There is no way to get 5.1 sound from the DVD into our Alpine headunit (no digital input avail). Those of us in the US have XM taking up the aux input on the read of the headunit (on Canadian models it is free). You could either totally lose XM and hookup your sound to these jacks, or rig up a switch of some sort which a few have done sucessfully. The other alternitive is an FM modulator (broadcasts the audio over an FM freq. that you can tune into).

You then need a video source...dvd player, ps2, xbox, computer...etc.

Can't help you out just yet, I have the DomofNavWithTV adapter, I have ordered Farenheit headrest monitors, audiovox 6 disk changer, and audio splitter from cartoys, and the rest of my shopping list is still under way. I anticipate having all components here by the end of next week at which point I will begin the install and subsequent install how to thread

Check the 3G garage, I believe there's at least one good thread in there

Here's another

And in this post zax123 has a link to his website where he's shown a lot of the work

Also try searching .. After the first two links I start charging!!

Good Luck!
