Screeching noise with HFL

first off, this is the first car i've owned with bluetooth connectivity so i'm whatever newer than a novice is when dealing with this particulat technology.

when using the HFL tonight, i got a mid range pitched feedback type sound. the person i was calling could hear me fine. even after calling back and answering with the phone, the feedback continued. i shut the phone off to disconnect the bluetooth and when i tried the call again, the connection was fine. i've only used the HFL 2 or 3 times so far. the cell is a motorola razr.

the car didnt feel to be running smoothly either, but i'm willing to attribute that to new car paranoia. (she has only 850 miles on her)

i'm going to try the bluetooth again tomorrow as its late now but has anyone else had this or a similar problem? something i should be concerned about?

thanks in advance.

mods, if this is a repeat thread, my apologies. i did a search but i'm terrible at forum searches.

I've had a nice encounter with this problem today. everytime i press the hfl button a very loud scxreeching sound like the ones usually when a mic does a feedback loop.

I tured off the car and restarted, it went away, immediately being replaced by my usual cmbs, acc and airbag lights.

of course, it is raining today.

I have noticed rain, car wash, makes these problems along with the dimples on handles and keyless entry working intermittently after a shower.

What is all this?

It sounds like what happens when water gets into the MICU on a 3G TL, usually due to a bad windshield seal or plugged sunroof drains.

1) Find the cause of the water intrusion.
2) Fix it or get the cause fixed (clear the drain tubes or get the windshield reinstalled properly).
3) If the symptoms don't disappear completely, pull the MICU, disassemble and clean it or replace it.
