Scala 500 BT Headset
http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=511668
eCost has them on sale for $35 with free shipping. No tax in California. They do charge a handling fee of 3-4 dollars, but this is the cheapest that i've seen it go for.
As far as the unit itself, here's a little mini-review.
Overall, the construction is very sturdy and the unit performs nearly flawlessly. The only thing I noticed lacking in the unit with my Treo 650 was the redial function does not seem to be working properly. The phone dials, but there is no sound through the headset unless you reassociate it. Other than that, all other functions perform as advertised. Voice quality is superb, and the volume control is fantastic. The unit is very aestheticly pleasing. It's battery life is also astonishing for such a small headset.
I've used a number of BT headsets before settling on this one. Most pale in comparison with the scala, and the price makes it even more attractive. You pay for a mid-level device, but instead you get a top-notch product.
Anyway, I hope some people will find this useful. eCost only has a few units, I just ordered my second one since, being the brilliant person I am, lost my first one. But I guess that says much about this headset that I'd be willing to purchase two.
