Dual disc is a new format. It is CD/DVD on a double sided disc. DualDisc!

Depends. It can be either. Sony discs will be DVD-V, but most should be DVD-A.

I picked up the NIN "Downward Spiral" DualDisc and it sounds great in the TL.

so....it basically defeats the purpose to buy a DVD-Audio...? because youd be getting the CD and the DVD-A in one..?

also....if dual discs are a CD and DVD-Audio...why are DVD-Audios higher priced...is there a difference in sound quality? is it the whole album?

dualdisc's are priced cheaper so that it will gain more media mass. good news for us! that is assuming most will put dvd-audio, i dont think it's required in the spec. in fact, the dualdisc spec is pretty messed and most dvd player companies have released statements saying that they might not work etc etc.

i don't really care for the use of it in my dvd player...but all i care about is that they will work in my car....so basically all dual discs will work in the Acura TL Sound System thats all i really care about, because i don't want to buy a few dual discs and have some technicality where i can only buy a certain type of dual disc thats compatible or that it just has some bonus tracks on the other side where it plays like 2 of the songs in DVD-Audio....

Thanks

Thanks for the post, I checked DVD Empire and found that they have Miles Davis- "Kind of Blue". This is the all time most popular jazz album available for pre-realease order in the dual disc format. I was hoping this would become available in DVD-A format. It's ordered and will be here next month.
Thanks

Kind of Blue will indeed be a DualDisc, but it will not have a DVD-A track, since this is a SONY release. What it may have is a Dolby Digital surround track, which will in fact be a DVD-V track, something that the Acura will not play.

Sorry, but SONY is the creator of SACD (the DVD-A competitor) and they refuse (at this point anyway) to make a "DVD-A" player or disc!

If you think this is confusing........................you are not alone.
